Erbum:Yag, like <a href=\"https:\/\/dermatim.rs\/en\/laser-treatments\/fractionated-co2-laser\/\">CO2<\/a>, is a fractional laser, but there are certain advantages that make it efficient for different indications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the main advantages of this treatment is a short recovery period, making it possible for patients to return quickly to their daily activities. Sun protection after Erbium laser treatment must be used for a month only, and after CO2 laser for two months. The laser&#8217;s unique wavelength provides instant ablation, with minimal heating and damage to the surrounding skin. Thermal damage is the most important difference between Erbium laser treatment and CO2 laser treatment. Also, with Erbium lasers, it is possible to determine the depth of the treatment, that is, the intensity of ablation \u2013 from deep to quite mild. That&#8217;s why this laser also performs light dermabrasion, i.e. the so-called &#8220;Hollywood peel&#8221;, with minimal skin damage and rejuvenated facial appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Erbium laser generates less heat on the skin so the treatments are also less painful than CO2 laser treatments. When treating small areas, anaesthesia is not necessary at all. However, it is recommended for sensitive areas such as eyelids, neck or hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After treatment with Erbium laser, there are also lower risks of hyperpigmentation development. <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/15662626\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Studies<\/a> have shown that hypopigmentation also occurs less frequently (compared to CO2 laser treatments).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although the laser beam in this treatment does not penetrate as deeply as in CO2 lasers, the results can be compared.
